    Edlynn Arts & Wellness Class

    Edlynn’s Arts & Wellness class is thoughtfully designed to cultivate creativity, healthy routines, independence, and meaningful social connection in a warm, inclusive environment. Each 90-minute session brings together a small group of participants supported by one or two dedicated Edlynn facilitators, ensuring personalized guidance and a sense of community.

    Each class begins with a calming, grounding routine. Participants review a visual schedule and take part in gentle wellness activities such as light stretching, chair yoga, or mindful breathing using sensory supports. This intentional opening helps participants feel settled, focused, and ready to engage.

    The session then transitions into a hands-on creative arts experience. Participants explore accessible, choice-driven projects including painting, collage, beading, and sculpting with clay or dough. Edlynn’s facilitators provide clear, step-by-step visual supports, encouraging self-expression, confidence, and independent decision-making while honoring each participant’s unique style and pace.

    Following the art activity, the group collaborates in preparing a healthy snack or light meal. Using simple, interactive recipes—such as yogurt parfaits, veggie wraps, smoothies, or mini pita pizzas—participants practice life skills in a fun and supportive setting. Picture-based recipe cards, pre-measured ingredients, and visual and verbal prompts help reinforce sequencing, engagement, and food safety skills.

    Once the food is prepared, participants enjoy a mindful eating experience together. This relaxed social time encourages conversation, gratitude, and the use of communication supports while strengthening peer connections.

    The class concludes with a reflection circle, where participants are invited to share their artwork, creations, or favorite moments from the session. This closing activity fosters self-awareness, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging within the Edlynn community.
